Easter Creativity . . . . Part 2 "Decorating"

Greetings lovely friends & readers

And the happiest of Easter Sunday's to you all πŸ’—

Easter has been rather chilly here in my neck of the woods & I am wearing full winter clothing.  This morning I had to have my dear friend Carolyn at the airport by 6 am so it was an early start for me.  I did find time later in the morning to sit outside at my deck table & enjoy a Hot Cross Bun, a frothy coffee & the latest magazine which came through the mail  ...  lifes simple pleasures.

Early yesterday I made two loaves of Banana Bread ... one in the new tin from my op-shop haul last week.  I often double the recipe & now I have 2 proper loaf tins to use.  These are gifts for my sons & their wives instead of chocolate eggs.
Little One & I gathered some walnuts as the tree-trimming men are due here next week.

This sweet little tarnished & grubby jug was $2 in my recent op-shop haul & it got the tomato sauce treatment yesterday.  It is photographing as silver but it is actually the palest brass in colour.

I found these crochet coasters in my drawer - I could never bear the thought of The Mr plonking his mug of tea on them so they were never used.  I thought they made the sweetest bunting pegged onto a length of ric rac.  Should I applique E A S T E R onto each one dear readers ...... or leave as is ?? What do you think ??

I thought I'd share some of my Easter decorating with you - rather hard to get good photos on this overcast day but much of it is the same as past years.  I like to decorate my vintage Singer Sewing Table in my dining room for different seasons.

Much of it handmade ... chenille rabbit made in * this post *

I attached a length of thin dowel to this pretty teatowel to make a wall hanger & added the bobble trim.  Easter topiary from my last post.

This little table sits in the corner beside my fire place ... small Linen bunnies made in * this post *.  Yes I do prefer to colour co-ordinate my choccy eggs if I can because I am pathetic particular like that πŸ˜‰

Into the lounge we go ... this is the mantle that I also change out for the seasons.  Tilda rabbit made in * this post *

All the pretty pastels   πŸ’•

Beside the fire place ... wooden egg decoupaged last Easter in * this post *

Miss Maggie Rabbit made Here in 2019.... P.Cottontail Esq made last Easter in * this post *  & (pink) Hareloom Rabbit made Here in 2021

Wooden rabbit from last post ... the other display is atop a wooden speaker ... the book bundle was made by me

A little display of Easter bits tucked into the table that holds my pomander collection

Cardboard Peter Rabbit bunting from Spotlight - Bunny bunting from The Warehouse but I added the pompom tails  πŸ°πŸ‡

Finally my only sewn makes this Easter ... my dear friend Shirley gifted me the cutest pattern for these rabbit-head shelf-sitters.  A pattern by Rustic Country Handcrafts called Bonnie, Betty and Buttons.   I made the smaller one first, then enlarged the pattern as I wanted mine different sizes.  I just used wool oddments already in my stash - I may make a third one to have a trio - but not this Easter  πŸ˜‰

Wishing you all a wonderful Easter Sunday dear friends
May the coming week be a good one for you all - remember to be kind to yourselves & to each other,
With much love & friendship to you all,

  1. Why of course your choccy eggs are colour co-ordinated....'tis expected. =) Easter would look nice on the doiley bunting but then you wouldn't be able to use it for any other occasion. Your home is brimming with Easter gorgeousness, Julie. My, you have fashioned many beautiful bunnies. Each and every is wonderful. A beautiful Easter Sunday to you, lovely Julie. Wish I was there to share a cuppa with you, oh, and of course, a hot cross bun.

  2. Yes I think I would colour co-ordinate my choccy eggs if my home was as gorgeous as yours too Julie. Everything is just so pretty. Thank you for sharing it with us. Sarah from USA xx

    1. Thank you so much for your sweet kind comment Sarah.. Happy Easter to you x0x

  3. I just love all of your Easter decorating. I've only just started Easter decorating over the past few years and add something new each year. As for the bunting, if you leave those gorgeous coasters as they are you can have it up all year round! Happy Easter! xxx

  4. Lovely Easter decorating Julie, so much to look at! That little jug cleaned up really well. xx

  5. Goodness! Love 'ALL' the different bunnies Julie....

  6. Julie your home is just lovely what ever season it may be, all your handmade bunnies are just gorgeous, I would leave your coasters plain cause then you could leave them out all year, they are so cute. Yum I'm addicted to those frothy coffees :-) Happy Easter to you and all your family Julie xoxo

  7. What lovely Easter decorations. Your house is a joy to see! I have a little side table with seasonal decorations and I enjoy changing them round. As for the bunting, I agree with the other commenters - if you leave the doilies as they are, you can use them for other occasions. Of course, it is entirely up to you!
Have a lovely Easter with your family and a creative week.
    Best wishes

  8. Happy Easter Julie! This makes my Easter Sunday morning so happy to see! I enjoy all your lovely decorations and I know how detailed some are for the work you put into them. You are gathering walnuts and I am anxiously awaiting my walnut trees to bud up. Another 6 or 8 weeks. We are having a wet and cool Easter Sunday but at least it is not snow, lol. And we missed a bad hail storm yesterday by just a mile or so. Thank you for visiting Precious' blog. We love to see you stop in. I am sure the banana bread was enjoyed, and probably too quickly gone. You and I are probably wearing about the same kind clothing for the cool/cold right now, lol. Lynn and Precious XX

  9. Lovely Easter Decorations, The crochet coasters are lovely pinned as a garland. We have fog and cold here today in Ohio, if I were a little girl again, today my pretty dress would be covered up with a coat, but I'd still have my pretty white patent leather shoes on. Such a lovely memory, dressing up for Easter.

  10. Hope you have had a peaceful, happy Easter Sunday, Julie. x x x

  11. Wonderful seeing all your beautiful Easter decorations Julie. I like your crochet coasters as they are. Have a very happy Easter.

  12. Julie, your Easter decorations are beautiful and all the bunnies are adorable! I love the little crocheted coasters just the way they are now, too pretty to change. I need to collect a few Easter things to decorate with. Your home is so pretty.

  13. Fabulous Easter decor.... I must get some tomato sauce for cleaning...

  14. From Jackie ....
I now have an idea on how to use the lovely doilies my grandmother left to me. A bunting, what an awesome idea.

I hope you have had a lovely Easter.

    God bless.

  15. Such a wonderful themed display Julie - keep the doilies in the bunting plain, then they can 'do' more than one occasion!
Pin on paper letters if you wish to use them with letters.
Loving how you cleaned the wee brass jug - that looks amazing. I have never heard of using tomato sauce as a cleaner for tarnished metal objects! There is never a shortage of tomato sauce in this household...
I had a lovely Easter, thank you - and I hope you did also

  16. Oh My Goodness Julie your Easter displays are wonderful. You were very lucky with your 'haul' from the Op Shop, up here in Auckland the prices are ludicrously expensive, you would only have got a couple of those items for the money you spent.
I made a whole lot of those carrot bags for the kids a couple of years ago after seeing yours. I like the look of your ideas this year, might have to file that away for next year. Thanks for your inspiration each week, its a joy to see what you make. Have a great week.

    1. Thank you so much Pam! Yes I was lucky with my haul .... very lucky for sure. It was pure fluke I can tell you. I was surprised at how reasonable their prices are at Vinnies. I seem to remember you making the carrot bags - these bunny ear bags are simple also but remember you may need to enlarge the pattern to fit the goodies in. Have a lovely week up there Pam x0x

  17. Such an uplifting post Julie. You really do get it right as far as craft design goes. Love

  18. I'm so happy I found your blog.....through Jenny Elifantz's blog. I will now follow you. You are so creative and full of fun crafting ideas!!!!! Love all your Easter decorating ideas. When there is more time, I'll view your past posts....can't wait!

    1. Thank you so much Patty - for your sweet kind comment. I am so pleased you found me !!! Thanks for taking the time to leave this lovely comment. Wishing you a wonderful week. Julie xx

  19. I'm worried about the bunny under the glass dome, can she breathe??

  20. (from June)

I am playing catch up. LOVE your post and all the bunnies , Hope you had a wonderful Easter , Hugs June.

  21. I absolutely love the grubby little jug you transformed with tomato juice.

    1. Thanks so much Linda ... its a sweet little Jug isn't it. The tomato sauce works wonders! xx

  22. Julie - visual delight of bunnies and eggs.

  23. Dear Julie, I am lucky enough to have seen your beautiful Easter display, it's a visual gorgeous sight. Like Leanne I am concerned for little Tilda rabbit under the glass dome, can she breathe? So fascinated with your tomato sauce treatment, who would have thought, mind you what the heck does it do to the lining of your stomach if you use it on your food.Hugs.

  24. Oh dear I don't know how I missed this post because I always love seeing your Easter decorations. Love the bunny cute. Everything looked beautiful. Love it all xx
